Philips Partners with BSMH to Enhance Patient Monitoring

Philips announced a multi-year strategic collaboration with Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH) aimed at empowering clinicians with advanced patient monitoring technologies. This collaboration focuses on reducing the digital burden on healthcare providers, thereby allowing them more time to interact with patients. Philips will provide access to its latest scalable patient monitoring platform, which integrates patient data to offer vital insights. The initiative aims to standardize patient monitoring across BSMH’s 49 hospitals, potentially lowering costs through a predictable payment model and enabling further reinvestment in innovation.

BSMH, serving patients over 11 million times annually across 1,200 care sites, will benefit from Philips' innovations over the next decade. The first three years will see the implementation of the monitoring platform, followed by seven years of maintenance and updates. Jodi Pahl, BSMH's chief nursing officer for workforce experience and nursing outcomes, emphasized the collaboration's role in improving healthcare quality and addressing community healthcare issues. This long-term partnership is expected to transform care delivery by bringing new technological advancements to the forefront.

Julia Strandberg, chief business leader of Connected Care at Philips, highlighted the partnership's testament to BSMH's commitment to strong clinical engagement and improved patient and staff experiences. By eliminating time-consuming data roadblocks, the collaboration aims to enhance patient outcomes and bring quality care to a broader population. This strategic alliance reflects both organizations' dedication to leveraging innovative technologies to drive better healthcare solutions.
