PocDoc, a digital health platform based in Cambridge, has announced a major pilot program in partnership with the NHS Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) program in the North East.
The TLHC program aims to screen a million people per year for early-stage lung cancer but also identifies early stages of coronary heart disease. PocDoc's app-based technology platform delivers an end-to-end cardiovascular assessment pathway, including a cholesterol test, in under 10 minutes.
The pilot will offer PocDoc tests to thousands of patients after their TLHC scans, and clinical teams will use the PocDoc dashboard to assess treatment pathways in real time.
The goal is to maximise health outcomes, reduce cardiovascular deaths, and provide cost savings for the NHS.
