Dr Renee Dua and Nick Desai, founders of doctor house call company Heal, have launched Together by Renee, an app that utilises generative AI to assist ageing adults, individuals with chronic diseases, and overwhelmed caregivers with managing healthcare tasks.
The app eliminates obstacles such as medication refills, appointment scheduling, complex forms, and insurance issues by using smartphone cameras and AI. Together is the first app in the U.S. to measure vital signs, including blood pressure and heart rate, simply by having users smile for a selfie.
This deviceless approach provides convenience for those with chronic illnesses and offers reassurance to caregivers who can monitor their loved ones remotely. The app aims to simplify healthcare tasks and improve health outcomes by streamlining processes and promoting adherence to care plans.
It also addresses common challenges in the healthcare system, such as long wait times and limited access to digital services. Together utilises AI to recognise pill bottles and automatically schedule appointments, call in refills, and identify preventive exams.
