Rightway and Amazon’s OneMedical join forces to broaden access to primary care

Rightway, an employee-focused healthcare navigation and pharmacy benefits platform, is partnering with One Medical, a hybrid primary care provider, to enhance access to primary care for employees. Rightway offers a comprehensive healthcare platform that assists employees in understanding and utilising their health benefits. It provides information on costs and available care options within their healthcare plans, and also serves as a pharmacy benefits manager. The company offers personalised assistance from real staff members to help users comprehend their benefits. On the other hand, One Medical, which was acquired by Amazon, is a membership-based primary care organisation that offers both virtual and in-person visits, as well as messaging with healthcare providers and prescription assistance.

Through this partnership, One Medical will become an integrated partner within RightwayHub, Rightway's centralised care navigation platform. RightwayHub allows employees to access various digital health solutions from Rightway's partners in one location. Rightway's members will be able to access One Medical's primary care services through this platform, while One Medical will benefit from centralised reporting and simplified contracting.

David Kabaker, Vice President of Channel Partnerships at One Medical stated, "By combining One Medical's primary care solution and Rightway's care navigation solution, clients will see increased usage of One Medical's services, proven to drive down the total cost of care and deliver improved health outcomes."

In July 2022, Amazon announced its agreement to acquire One Medical for $3.9 billion. The deal was subsequently reviewed by the Federal Trade Commission and was finalised in February. One Medical reported significant growth, with a 14% increase in members and a 68% increase in net revenue in 2022. Rightway also secured substantial funding in recent years, with $100 million in Series C funding in 2021.
