Salesforce is expanding its portfolio of pre-built artificial intelligence agents designed to reduce administrative workloads for healthcare payers, providers and public health organisations.
The company is working with health technology firms HealthEx, Verily and Viz.ai to integrate key datasets and automate tasks such as clinical intake, updates to electronic health records, hospital bed management and monitoring for infectious disease outbreaks. The six new AI agents build on Salesforce’s Agentforce Health platform, introduced last year as part of its broader push into agentic AI for patient access, clinical research and public health operations.
According to Salesforce, the agents can help speed up closed-loop referrals, explain complex insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket costs for patients, and manage hospital logistics. They can also analyse disease trends for public health agencies. Integrations with HealthEx and Verily aim to create a more unified patient record by combining clinical data with information from digital health wallets, wearable devices and other monitoring tools.
Viz.ai adds AI-powered disease detection and care coordination capabilities. By analysing medical imaging and electronic health records, the system can flag suspected conditions and automatically trigger workflows within the Agentforce Health platform.
The technology is already being used by multispecialty physician group MIMIT Health, which reports significant operational improvements, including a 459% return on investment and around $1.5 million in savings. The organisation also noted increased patient satisfaction and a reduced administrative burden for staff.
Salesforce says several of the new capabilities are already available, with additional features and integrations expected to roll out later in 2026.
