Samsung Health and HealthTap Expand Access to Virtual Primary Care to Millions

HealthTap and Samsung Health have announced a partnership to integrate virtual primary and urgent care directly into the Samsung Health app. This collaboration allows users to book, conduct, and follow up on virtual consultations without leaving the app—marking HealthTap’s first in-app experience within a third-party consumer platform. The integration provides a new distribution channel for HealthTap, reaching over 7 million U.S. Samsung Health users, and enables people to build an ongoing relationship with a primary care doctor from anywhere in the country.

HealthTap CEO Sean Mehra said the partnership advances their vision of seamless, accessible care by connecting consumers to doctors where they already track health data. The integration allows for real-time use of fitness and biometric data from Samsung devices during consultations, supporting more personalized diagnoses and better outcomes.

Dr. Ricky Choi, Samsung Electronics America’s Head of Digital Health, emphasized that embedding telehealth directly into Samsung Health makes care more actionable and accessible, helping users transition easily between wellness tracking and clinical care.

Through a built-in interface, users can select a virtual visit, complete an intake form, and connect with a HealthTap physician within minutes. Post-consultation notes and instructions appear directly in the app, streamlining the experience without extra downloads or app switching.

For Samsung, the partnership builds on its push toward connected digital health ecosystems, linking wellness data with clinical care. As telehealth adoption continues to rise, this collaboration reduces friction, broadens access, and strengthens long-term patient engagement. Future phases aim to expand beyond primary and urgent care into specialty services and deeper data integrations, paving the way for a more connected, data-driven healthcare ecosystem.
