Sophia Genetics and MSK Partner to Launch Precision Oncology Hub in New York City

Sophia Genetics and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a joint venture focused on establishing a precision oncology hub in New York City. The proposed initiative would combine MSK’s clinical oncology expertise, diagnostic capabilities and extensive cancer data resources with Sophia Genetics’ AI-powered analytics platform, Sophia DDM. Together, the organizations aim to accelerate the development and deployment of precision medicine tools that can support more personalized cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The planned hub is designed to expand access to MSK’s oncology innovations beyond its own institution by creating a model that can serve hospitals, laboratories and biopharmaceutical companies. Sophia DDM will provide the underlying AI and data analysis infrastructure, while MSK will contribute scientific leadership, clinical expertise and access to one of the world’s largest cancer datasets. Over the past decade, MSK has sequenced more than 150,000 tumor samples, creating a rich repository of genomic, clinical, pathology and imaging data that can be used to develop advanced oncology algorithms and decision-support tools.

A major focus of the collaboration will be multimodal precision oncology, which combines multiple data sources to generate more comprehensive insights into cancer diagnosis, treatment selection and outcomes. The organizations also expect the hub to support companion diagnostics development, evidence generation and research programs for biopharma partners. The initiative builds on an existing relationship between the two groups and reflects a broader trend toward integrating AI, large-scale clinical datasets and precision medicine to improve cancer care and expand access to advanced diagnostics worldwide.
