ŌURA Acquires Galen AI to Integrate Clinical Data with Biometric Insights

ŌURA has announced the acquisition of Galen AI, a startup founded by Stanford graduates focused on aggregating fragmented healthcare data across more than 10,000 systems. While financial terms were not disclosed, the transaction marks a strategic step toward integrating clinical records—including lab results, medications, and visit histories—with continuous biometric data generated by the Oura Ring.

The acquisition enables ŌURA to expand beyond wearable tracking into a more comprehensive health platform. By incorporating Galen AI’s infrastructure, the company aims to bridge the longstanding divide between clinical data and consumer-generated health metrics. This integration is designed to create a unified environment where longitudinal medical histories and daily biometric signals can be analyzed together, offering more context-driven insights.

Galen AI’s founders, along with their AI platform, will join ŌURA to support development of what the company describes as a “connected health companion.” The initiative reflects a broader effort to transform large volumes of disparate health data into a cohesive narrative that can inform everyday health decisions and potentially support clinical engagement.

The combined platform addresses a core limitation in current digital health tools: biometric indicators such as sleep quality or heart rate variability often lack clinical context. By linking these signals with verified medical records, the system is expected to provide a more comprehensive view of individual health patterns.

ŌURA CEO Tom Hale emphasized the importance of talent and infrastructure in achieving this vision, stating that the goal is to move beyond passive tracking toward actively “connecting the dots” across multiple data sources. For users, this could translate into insights that are both more personalized and more aligned with clinical standards.

The acquisition builds on ŌURA’s recent investments in artificial intelligence, including the launch of Oura Advisor and the addition of the Doublepoint team. It also reflects increasing momentum toward proactive health models, where AI tools identify potential issues earlier by analyzing integrated datasets.

Galen AI co-founders Priyanka Shrestha and Viraj Mehta highlighted the opportunity to scale their platform within ŌURA while maintaining a focus on clinical rigor and privacy. As the company expands its AI capabilities, the integration of clinical and biometric data is expected to play a central role in shaping future consumer health technologies.
