Welldoc has launched its next-generation digital health platform, introducing an AI-powered care loop designed to connect patients’ daily health experiences with their clinical teams. The platform uses clinically validated Small Language Models (SLMs) to provide personalized guidance and generate actionable information between clinical visits.
At the center of the platform is Simon, Welldoc’s AI care agent, which coordinates tailored support for individuals managing complex conditions. Welldoc said its proprietary, closed SLMs have been trained using more than 500 million health data points across over 80 health domains.
The underlying data foundation also includes more than 21 million real-time sensor records, including continuous glucose monitoring data, and 9.2 million AI-driven engagements. Welldoc reports that patients using its AI features engage more than 20% more frequently and remain active for up to four times longer than users not using AI features.
"People need simple, connected solutions that bridge daily life with clinical care," said Kevin McRaith, President and CEO of Welldoc. "Our AI-Powered Care Loop translates complex data into trusted, real-time guidance straight to clinicians—helping them identify risks early, use resources wisely, and scale programs efficiently."
The company positions the platform as an alternative to fragmented digital health tools by connecting patient-generated information and AI-driven guidance directly with clinical workflows. Its technology is supported by 11 FDA clearances, 69 patents and more than 100 peer-reviewed clinical publications, including 44 focused on healthcare AI.
"Healthcare built the pipes for data interoperability, but hasn’t maximized the insights flowing through them," said Anand Iyer, PhD, Chief AI Officer at Welldoc. "We are shifting from merely sharing data to actively generating clinical intelligence, and we are proud to be helping define this next generation of AI-powered care delivery."
Welldoc said the platform can be integrated with enterprise partner systems and clinical workflows within two to three months. It serves organizations across life sciences, health plans and health systems, with governance incorporating HIPAA and NIST standards alongside continuous safety checks, automated quality audits and patient privacy protections.
