Zelis Acquires Rivet to Expand AI-Driven Revenue Cycle Analytics

Zelis has acquired Rivet, a company specializing in revenue cycle analytics, in a transaction intended to extend advanced data and analytics capabilities across the Zelis healthcare financial platform. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Through the acquisition, Rivet’s AI-enabled analytics and dashboards have been embedded into the Zelis platform, reaching more than 750 payer organizations and millions of healthcare providers.

The transaction has addressed growing pressure on healthcare organizations to reduce administrative waste and manage increasing regulatory complexity. Industry estimates have shown that administrative inefficiencies can account for as much as a quarter of total healthcare spending, making actionable insights into claims and payment trends a priority for both payers and providers. By integrating Rivet’s analytics layer, Zelis has positioned its platform to support earlier identification of denial drivers and recurring sources of rework within the revenue cycle.

Rivet’s technology has been designed to give providers detailed visibility into claims payment performance, including denial rates and underlying patterns that contribute to delayed or missed reimbursement. These insights have enabled providers to identify root causes of financial friction and adjust workflows to improve first-pass claim acceptance. At the same time, the shared analytics environment has supported more informed collaboration between payers and providers, shifting interactions away from transactional inquiries toward data-driven discussions focused on operational improvement.

Zelis has framed the acquisition as part of a broader effort to consolidate payments, analytics, and communication tools into a single environment. Yusuf Qasim, President of Payments at Zelis, said the company is working to build a “transformative platform” that helps healthcare organizations respond to sustained margin pressure and rising administrative costs. The integration of Rivet’s analytics has been positioned as a key component of that strategy.

The acquisition has followed a period of collaboration between Zelis and Rivet, during which the companies have aligned their approaches to simplifying healthcare payments. Ted Ferrin, CEO at Rivet, said joining Zelis extends Rivet’s mission while connecting the company to a culture of “inclusion, authenticity, and empowerment”. As healthcare organizations in 2026 have placed increased emphasis on workforce engagement and retention, cultural alignment has been viewed as an important factor in sustaining operational and financial performance over the long term.
