Building Incentive Models for Digital Health in Neurodegenerative Diseases

About this Meeting

Small, intimate and participant-led discussions tackling digital health challenges. Spaces are limited to 8 - 12 people, allowing you to focus on quality in-depth conversations.

In Neurodegenerative Diseases, aging is a risk factor and as the older populations grow,  its prevalence increases, leading to an enormous burden on healthcare systems. The use of digital health can be useful for patients, healthcare providers, and institutions, allowing easy access to medical care, avoiding stressful trips, and reducing health care costs and waiting lists. However, in previous meetings we heard that most payers don't consider neurological disease as a huge problem compared to other therapeutic areas. On top of that, some neurologists may not care as much on the patients’ daily activities in-between visits as patients and family do.

Therefore, it is challenging to convince them of the value and it can be hard to align their needs with the digital health solution, which impacts on the adoption. How can we build incentive models that encourage payers and physicians to adopt digital health for neurodegenerative diseases? Join this session to have a more deeper discussion about:

  • How do we incentivize physicians and care teams to recommend/prescribe digital health in neurodegenerative disease? What are the financial and non-financial incentives?
  • How do these incentives for physicians and care teams change across geographies? Is the product reimbursement a must?
  • What are the incentives for health systems and payers? What are the health care cost reductions? How can health systems and payers benefit from those?
  • How can digital health companies conduct more research in health economics to show these benefits? What data points can they use to show the value (e.g. reduction in fall frequency)?
  • How can we build incentive models that align with the needs of physicians, payers, and patients?
  • Is there anything we can learn from incentive models in other therapeutic areas?

We would like to remind you that our meetings are small and intimate sessions with a limited number of seats available, therefore we rely on your attendance and participation to ensure a high quality and valuable meeting for all. If you are confirmed for this meeting we ask if you can please ensure your attendance on the day.
