Pharmacies in the US as a Distribution Model for DTx

About this Meeting

Small, intimate and participant-led discussions tackling digital health challenges. Spaces are limited to 8 - 12 people, allowing you to focus on quality in-depth conversations.

The large pharmacy chains model in the US presents pharmacies as a promising distribution channel for Digital Therapeutics (DTx). Pharmacists, as trusted healthcare professionals, have a long-standing relationship with the local patient community and access to a wide range of patients, making pharmacies a potentially attractive target for DTx companies seeking to boost adoption of both prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) DTx products.

However, despite the benefits, the viability of this model is still uncertain and requires further exploration. There are many challenges that must be addressed. How can we overcome those challenges and establish a clearer path for this model to succeed? Join this meeting to discuss about:

  • Pros and cons of using pharmacies as a distribution model for DTx in the US. How can pharmacists act as a patient activator and give support along the digital treatment? How to scale this model?
  • Meeting pharmacists’ needs. DTx solutions have been designed with the patient and physician in mind, hence pharmacists’ needs are rarely met. How can we include pharmacists at the center of the DTx business model?
  • Incentives for pharmacists. How can we work on financial incentive models for pharmacies? What should these models look like?
  • Beyond OTC DTx: the potential of pharmacists to become authorized prescribers. How could the industry work together to give pharmacies the authority to prescribe Prescription DTx (PDT) solutions?
  • Awareness and training for pharmacy staff. What type of training do pharmacy staff need to effectively counsel and support patients using DTx solutions? What support would  the pharmacy's staff need? How can we leverage conferences and pharmacists’ associations to address the knowledge gap and promote DTx?
  • Integration with EHR systems. When pharmacies are the DTx prescribers, how can we ensure the data is well integrated with the EHR so then physicians can use it for decision-making?
We would like to remind you that our meetings are small and intimate sessions with a limited number of seats available, therefore we rely on your attendance and participation to ensure a high quality and valuable meeting for all. If you are confirmed for this meeting we ask if you can please ensure your attendance on the day.
