Virtual Care in the form of Telemedicine has taken a leap forward in 2020 but many other areas of care provision require digital support to make the patient experience logical and seamless. Primary Care is one obvious place to go beyond symptom triage to digitally-enabled care management. While AI chatbots are great for screening and triaging, how can virtual health assistants integrate with Primary Care enable people to take actionable steps – to schedule appointments (telehealth or in-person,) to find a testing facility, to access educational resources, to direct individuals to emergency care when appropriate, or to notify them about prep for surgical procedures, etc? Ideally doing all of this within the framework of a health system.
