Roche unifies its digital health portfolio under the navify brand, to provide a range of next generation software solutions. The navify brand will bring new ways to improve interoperability, use advanced analytics to deliver operational excellence and generate advanced medical insights that augment clinical decision support. Why it’s Notable:

  • Roche is creating an open-ended digital ecosystem across a variety of healthcare stakeholders; labs, hospitals and medtech companies to help accelerate innovation with the ultimate goal of providing advanced care to patients. Using the navify brand, Roche hopes to tackle many healthcare challenges including the shortage of healthcare workers, misdiagnosis and interoperable data systems.

  • Roche has a large portfolio comprising 30 digital solutions for patients, labs and hospitals. The navify brand will include digital infrastructure solutions (navify core integrator) to integrate data across care settings, navify operational excellence solutions (navify sample tracking) to drive efficiencies and enable value based care in labs and point of care and navify medical insight (navify kidney companion) solutions using advanced analytics to enhance clinical decision support.

Industry Implications:

  • Launching a new consolidated brand at a time when market confidence in digital health is low is a bold move. Roche’s integration of pharma and diagnostic businesses allows the company to be involved in all aspects of the patient care journey. The navify brand builds towards Roche’s vision of personalized healthcare by providing hospitals and labs with digital solutions, analytics and data science that will enable clinical decision making, improved workflows, interoperability and more.

  • More and more pharma companies are creating digital ecosystem hubs. However Roche’s approach is unique as they are heavily focused on data. Roche’s navify brand will be a one stop shop for all things digital and highlights the company's commitment to digital health as an intrinsic component to its long term strategy. It will be interesting to see whether other pharma/medtech companies continue to invest in their digital strategy amidst a turbulent economic period, further plagued by corporate restructures and layoffs.
