Assured has raised $19 million in Series A funding to expand its AI-powered provider operations platform, which automates credentialing and payer enrollment for healthcare organizations. Insight Partners led the round, with additional participation from First Round Capital and Kindred Ventures. The company currently works with more than 100 customers, including major health systems and digital health providers seeking to reduce the administrative delays involved in bringing clinicians into insurance networks.
The platform uses autonomous AI agents to complete work that has traditionally required credentialing teams to navigate licensing boards, primary verification sources and payer-specific application systems manually. Assured’s technology checks provider information against more than 2,000 primary sources, identifies missing or inaccurate data and prepares enrollment materials tailored to individual states and insurers. According to the company, this approach can reduce the time required to bring a provider in-network by around 30%.
Assured is also certified by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Credentials Verification Organization, allowing it to support healthcare groups operating under delegated credentialing arrangements with insurers. This certification is important for organizations that need to meet strict verification and quality requirements while managing large or rapidly growing provider networks. The company positions its technology as an execution platform that performs credentialing tasks directly, rather than simply tracking progress through a traditional administrative dashboard.
The impact of credentialing delays can extend beyond back-office inefficiency. When clinicians remain out of network for weeks or months, healthcare organizations may lose revenue, expansion into new markets can be delayed and patients can face longer waits for care. Virtual dermatology provider Tono Health, for example, reported completing more than 120 payer applications in one month after adopting Assured, supporting its growth across 32 states. Assured plans to use the new funding to expand its platform and help more organizations accelerate provider onboarding and payer enrollment.
