ATA Action Acquires Digital Therapeutics Alliance to Form New Digital Health Coalition

ATA Action, the advocacy arm of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), has announced its acquisition of the Digital Therapeutics Alliance (DTA), the leading international organization focused on expanding access to digital therapeutics (DTx).

The strategic acquisition creates a unified platform for policy and advocacy dedicated to advancing innovative technologies that are reshaping patient care. The Boards of Directors of the ATA, ATA Action, and DTA unanimously approved the transaction, signaling strong organizational alignment on the merger's strategic value.

As part of the acquisition, Molnar will assume three key leadership positions: head of digital health at ATA Action, lead of the new Advancing Digital Health Coalition, and senior vice president of industry affairs at the ATA. This leadership structure ensures continuity and expertise across the combined organization's initiatives.

To further its commitment to digital health transformation, ATA Action has launched the Advancing Digital Health Coalition, which will build upon the foundational work of the DTA. The coalition's advocacy efforts will focus on several priority areas including:

  • Digital therapeutics

  • Prescription Drug Use Related Software (PDURS)

  • Digital Mental Health Treatment (DMHT) Devices

  • Remote monitoring devices

Additionally, the coalition plans to expand its scope to include emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital diagnostics, and devices that support care delivery in home settings.

"ATA Action is bringing together some of the most innovative minds in healthcare, committed to solving critical gaps in care delivery to redefine how patients receive care. Our goal is to create a unified voice to shape healthcare policies, ensuring that telehealth and digital therapeutics remain integral components of the U.S. healthcare system," said Kyle Zebley, executive director, ATA Action and senior vice president, public policy at the ATA. "We will continue to advance and expand our efforts to strengthen state and federal policy, ensuring that telehealth is established as a permanent and essential modality of care. And, with DTA's expertise influencing policies affecting innovative technologies, we are expanding our advocacy efforts to support digital health tools such as digital therapeutics, digital diagnostics, remote monitoring devices and artificial intelligence."

The acquisition represents a significant consolidation of advocacy power in the digital health space, potentially giving stakeholders a more unified and influential voice in policy discussions around telehealth implementation, digital therapeutics adoption, and reimbursement pathways for innovative digital health solutions.
