Bunkerhill Health has announced the completion of a Series B financing round led by Khosla Ventures, with continued participation from Sequoia Capital, Felicis, Optum Ventures, and Y Combinator. The financing brings the company's total funding to date to $55 million and will support continued development and expansion of its Carebricks agentic AI platform for health systems.
The company positions Carebricks as a platform that enables healthcare organizations to build and deploy AI agents across clinical, operational, and administrative functions. Applications include reviewing cardiology imaging for early indicators of heart disease, identifying patients requiring follow-up care, supporting prior authorization workflows, and automating registry management. The platform is currently deployed at organizations including Cleveland Clinic, the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), and Intermountain Health.

We believe AI agents can help them turn more of those ideas into reality.”
At UTMB, more than 20 AI agents are reported to be operating across clinical, operational, and administrative workflows. According to the organization, a coronary calcium detection agent using an FDA-cleared algorithm identified a patient at imminent risk of a heart attack, leading to cardiology evaluation and a subsequent triple bypass procedure. UTMB also reported that AI-supported nephrology triage has reduced average specialist wait times by more than 50%, while a lung nodule workflow has accelerated urgent case management by 80% and doubled guideline-concordant follow-up with substantially less manual coordination.
“We have more than 20 AI agents live on Carebricks at UTMB, working across clinical care, operations, and administration,” said Dr. Peter McCaffrey, Chief AI Officer at UTMB. “We’ve already seen tremendous impact on patient care, and we’re only at the beginning of what becomes possible when a health system can operate with agentic AI at this scale.”
Bunkerhill Health said the new funding will be used to expand the Carebricks platform, enabling health systems to deploy a wider range of production-ready AI agents while strengthening governance, monitoring, and safeguards required for enterprise-scale implementation.
