Crux and eMed Partner to Expand Employer Access to GLP-1 Medications

Crux and eMed have announced a strategic collaboration designed to expand employer access to FDA-approved GLP-1 medications by combining clinical care, prescribing support, payment solutions, and pharmacy fulfillment within a single employee benefit offering.

Under the partnership, eMed will provide its clinical care model, including clinician evaluations, prescribing support, and ongoing patient management, while Crux will contribute its payment and fulfillment infrastructure. The integrated approach is intended to simplify employer-sponsored access to GLP-1 therapies by enabling tax-advantaged health reimbursement arrangement (HRA) contributions and coordinating prescription fulfillment and home delivery.

Employees enrolled through participating organizations will also receive continuous clinical support from eMed, including routine check-ins, medication dose adjustments, and coaching throughout treatment. The collaboration seeks to integrate medical care with employer benefits to support individuals using GLP-1 therapies for weight management.

Commenting on the partnership, Linda Yaccarino, CEO of eMed, said, “This partnership represents a pivotal step toward a future where healthcare is no longer reactive, but continuous, proactive and deeply personal.”

She added, “While GLP-1s are a powerful catalyst, they open the door to reimagining how clinical care, technology and benefits converge to drive better outcomes at scale. Together with Crux, we're enabling employers to lead that transformation while empowering people to take greater control of their health and their future.”

The collaboration reflects continued investment in employer-focused obesity care and access to prescription weight-management therapies. eMed has expanded its focus beyond its original at-home diagnostic testing business to become a telehealth platform centered on GLP-1-enabled weight management supported by artificial intelligence and virtual care services.

Earlier this year, the company completed a $200 million Series A financing round at a valuation exceeding $2 billion. It has also expanded its leadership team and broadened its employer health offerings through additional strategic collaborations, including an obesity-care program developed with Thrive Global that combines clinical prescribing services with behavioral change and lifestyle support.

For Crux, the agreement further extends its role in helping employers, brokers, consultants, and individuals improve access to prescription medications by integrating reimbursement mechanisms with pharmacy fulfillment. Together, the two companies aim to provide employers with a more coordinated pathway for delivering GLP-1 therapies alongside ongoing clinical management and support.
