Clinical AI company Heidi has raised $340 million in new capital as it expands beyond ambient clinical documentation into supervised agentic workflows designed to support clinicians across broader parts of their working day.
The financing comprises a $100 million Series C equity round at a $900 million valuation and a separate $240 million growth investment. The Series C brings Heidi’s cumulative funding to $436.6 million. The company plans to direct equity capital toward proprietary R&D, clinical safety infrastructure and regulatory submissions, while additional growth capital will support enterprise expansion.
Founded in Melbourne by physician-technologist Dr. Thomas Kelly, Heidi now supports 2.8 million patient visits each week across 190 countries and 110 languages. The platform has supported more than 175 million patient visits and 67 million clinical hours, while annual recurring revenue increased from $1 million to $50 million within 24 months by April 2026.
Heidi has also expanded across public and private health systems. Customers include Beth Israel Lahey Health in the US, while the company has been selected as the sole supplier for NHS England Midlands. Deployments in Australia and New Zealand include The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, Children’s Health Queensland, Metro South Health and emergency departments throughout New Zealand.
The company is broadening its platform through several products. Heidi Evidence, launched in March 2026, provides context-aware clinical guidelines and medical literature at the point of care and has answered more than 10 million queries. Remote is a wearable audio-capture device designed for environments including operating rooms and ambulatory settings, while Dictate provides integrated voice-to-text functionality.
Heidi is also developing supervised agents for multi-step tasks including prepopulating order sets, drafting referrals and synthesising records before encounters. Clinicians will retain final review and sign-off, with these capabilities initially excluding UK and EU markets because of regional regulatory pathways.
“From the day I started Heidi, the ambition was always bigger than writing doctor’s notes. I imagined that AI would sit alongside clinicians and complete real work under their supervision,” Kelly said. “That’s the shift we’re now making: from documenting care to helping clinicians act on it. This round is about getting an AI Care Partner to every doctor in the world, and putting clinicians back at the center of care with their patients.”
