Hello Patient has acquired Converse Health, an AI workflow automation company focused on outpatient medical practices. The acquisition expands Hello Patient's agentic AI platform beyond front-office patient communications into back-office administrative workflows, creating a more integrated system that can automate tasks from a patient's initial call through scheduling, documentation, referrals and follow-up.
Hello Patient already provides AI agents capable of handling patient conversations and administrative requests through phone and messaging channels. Converse Health adds technology that interacts directly with electronic health records and automates the document-heavy work surrounding patient visits. Together, the companies aim to reduce the fragmented approach in which practices deploy separate AI tools for individual administrative tasks.
The combined platform can automate referral and fax intake by identifying incoming documents, matching them to patient records and filing them appropriately. AI agents can also review clinical notes and laboratory results to identify patients who are overdue for follow-up and proactively contact them to schedule appointments. Additional capabilities include preparing prior authorization paperwork, completing patient registration, retrieving imaging and responding to medical records requests.
Converse Health was founded in 2023 and built customized workflows for independent practices across dermatology, women's health, pain medicine and orthopedics. The company raised $1.3 million and grew to serve dozens of medical practices before the acquisition. Its technology is designed to integrate with existing EHR systems and automate workflows without requiring extensive implementation projects.
Hello Patient says the expanded platform can help outpatient providers reduce administrative workloads while improving patient access and operational efficiency. One orthopedic customer using the back-office technology across all incoming referrals reported processing referrals in half the previous time and successfully scheduling 57% of patients who engaged with the outreach.
