NeuroFlow Expands Behavioral Health Capabilities with Quartet Health Acquisition

NeuroFlow, a behavioral health technology and analytics company, is set to acquire virtual mental and behavioral health platform Quartet Health by the end of January 2025. The acquisition represents a significant expansion of NeuroFlow's capabilities in integrating behavioral health into physical health workflows, while enhancing its visibility into quality and risk management.

The transaction brings Quartet's established behavioral health provider network and referral management capabilities to NeuroFlow's existing customer base, which includes major national payers like Independence Blue Cross, health systems, and federal government entities. This acquisition follows NeuroFlow's recent strategic moves, including the acquisition of Intermountain Health's proprietary behavioral health analytics model and the purchase of Owl in 2024.

Chris Molaro, CEO of NeuroFlow, emphasized the significance of the acquisition: "This is an exciting moment for NeuroFlow, the current customers of Quartet Health and the future of behavioral health. By bringing Quartet and its customers onto our platform, we will accelerate our goal of making behavioral health care more accessible, personalized, and effective."

Quartet CEO Christina Mainelli highlighted the alignment between the companies: "We really feel like we have found that with NeuroFlow," noting that Quartet sought a partner sharing its mission to improve quality and affordability for patients with mental illness in America.

The acquisition builds on NeuroFlow's recent expansion efforts. In January, the company acquired Intermountain Health's proprietary health analytics model to enhance its analytics and AI capabilities for risk assessment models. In 2024, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center implemented NeuroFlow's workflow tools in its ambulatory care settings to better identify behavioral health needs and optimize care resource distribution.

The deal also follows Quartet Health's recent partnerships, including a strategic collaboration with Arbital Health focused on outcomes-based contracts and their Whole Health program. Additionally, Quartet partnered with Clover Health to provide value-based behavioral healthcare to Clover members through the Clover Assistant platform, an AI tool that supports provider decision-making for chronic conditions.
