Nextech, a provider of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management solutions for specialty healthcare, has announced strategic partnerships with Assort Health and EliseAI to integrate conversational and agentic artificial intelligence into its existing platforms.
Announced in October 2026 and showcased at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting, the partnerships aim to address administrative staffing shortages, patient access challenges, and inefficiencies in appointment scheduling across specialty practices.
Under the agreements, Nextech will offer practices a choice between Assort Health and EliseAI, with both solutions integrated into its Nextech Select/Cloud and Nextech Practice+ platforms. The integrations will enable automated appointment scheduling, patient intake, readiness checks, and follow-up communications, with information exchanged directly between AI systems and existing practice management workflows.
Both platforms will provide continuous patient engagement capabilities, allowing practices to manage telephone inquiries and digital interactions outside standard operating hours. The approach is intended to reduce unanswered calls, improve appointment availability, and limit administrative workloads.
Assort Health specialises in healthcare-focused conversational AI, drawing on more than 300 million specialty patient interactions. The company reports a 97% inquiry resolution rate, a 5% increase in completed appointments, and a 79% referral-to-appointment conversion rate. It also reports potential incremental revenue of up to $4.3 million per 100 providers through improved referral capture and scheduling efficiency.
EliseAI provides multimodal automation across patient-facing administrative processes, including appointment coordination, digital intake, insurance verification, chart preparation, and post-visit communications. The company reports handling more than 20 million patient conversations monthly and exceeding 100 million cumulative interactions.
The partnerships form part of Nextech's broader strategy to establish an integrated technology ecosystem that allows specialty practices to select AI capabilities according to their operational requirements.
“Every practice is looking for ways to improve patient access while relieving pressure on their teams,” said Rusty Frantz, Chief Executive Officer of Nextech.
By embedding both solutions within its existing infrastructure, Nextech aims to support more consistent patient access while reducing reliance on manual administrative processes.
