Noom Launches At-Home Biomarker Test Kit for GLP-1 Users and Metabolic Health Tracking

Noom has introduced a $125 at-home Biomarkers Test Kit for its U.S. membership base, expanding its digital health platform into diagnostics and continuous metabolic monitoring. The launch reflects broader efforts across preventive healthcare to reduce reliance on episodic laboratory testing and improve access to longitudinal health data for consumers managing chronic disease risks or weight-loss therapies.

The kit uses the Tasso+ blood collection device, enabling members to collect blood samples at home in less than ten minutes. Samples are processed through a CLIA-CAP-certified laboratory, with clinician-reviewed results delivered digitally within approximately one week. The testing panel measures 17 biomarkers tied to metabolic, cardiovascular, inflammatory, hormonal, and nutritional health.

Key biomarkers include HbA1c, Apolipoprotein B (ApoB), triglycerides, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), and Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), a genetic cardiovascular risk factor recommended for lifetime screening by both the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

The diagnostics expansion is closely aligned with Noom’s growing focus on GLP-1 medication management. The company said the testing system is designed to provide users and clinicians with a continuous feedback loop connecting prescription therapies and lifestyle interventions to measurable biological outcomes such as blood sugar regulation, lipid profiles, and inflammation markers.

Early findings from Noom’s Proactive Health program highlighted the prevalence of hidden metabolic risk factors among individuals traditionally considered healthy based on BMI measurements alone. In a cohort with a median BMI of 23.8, the company reported that:

  • 70% had elevated LDL cholesterol levels of at least 100 mg/dL

  • 43% showed elevated ApoB levels of at least 90 mg/dL

  • 36% recorded HbA1c values above 5.5%

  • 76% demonstrated suboptimal Vitamin D levels below 50 ng/mL

The company positioned these findings as evidence that visible indicators such as body weight may not fully capture underlying cardiovascular and metabolic risk.

Geoff Cook, CEO of Noom, said many individuals remain unaware of their internal health status until acute illness develops. He noted that integrating at-home biomarker testing into the Noom platform allows users to monitor progress throughout treatment and lifestyle modification programs while giving clinicians access to longitudinal data that may support medication tapering decisions for GLP-1 therapies.
