OpenLoop has acquired Hey Revia, an AI-powered voice and patient communication platform, as the telehealth infrastructure company continues to expand the capabilities of its virtual care ecosystem. The acquisition will see Hey Revia’s automated communication tools integrated into Launchpad, OpenLoop’s self-service platform that enables organizations to build and deploy branded telehealth services.
Based in Iowa, OpenLoop provides infrastructure supporting digital health organizations, including regulatory and legal services, provider staffing, administrative support, revenue cycle management and telehealth operations. By incorporating Hey Revia’s technology, the company aims to enhance workflow automation across healthcare delivery.
Hey Revia develops AI-enabled voice and communication tools that automate operational tasks such as insurance verification, prior authorizations and pharmacy coordination. The platform also manages patient communications through multiple channels, including phone, email, text messaging and fax, helping healthcare organizations streamline administrative processes.
As part of the transaction, Hey Revia cofounders Shaun Wei and David Zhu will join OpenLoop. Wei has been appointed executive vice president of engineering, while Zhu will serve as senior director of engineering.
OpenLoop also announced the appointment of Sowmya Subramanian as its first chief technology and product officer. Subramanian previously held leadership roles at Warner Bros. Discovery, Oracle, Quizlet and Google.
Commenting on her appointment, Subramanian said, "OpenLoop has built an end-to-end infrastructure layer for healthcare, with real clinical depth and operational scale. Advancing that platform and putting AI-powered systems to work where they measurably improve the quality of and access to patient care is exactly the problem I want to be solving."
The acquisition follows a series of strategic developments for OpenLoop. In April, the company acquired food-as-medicine platform Season Health, integrating nutrition and recipe-planning capabilities into its virtual care programs. More recently, OpenLoop partnered with Tenovi and RxHealing to launch a nationwide remote patient monitoring program designed to help independent pharmacies support patients with chronic conditions between provider visits through clinical oversight, compliance and billing infrastructure.
The announcement comes as OpenLoop continues to broaden its technology platform, combining AI-enabled automation with telehealth infrastructure to support healthcare providers, digital health companies and patient care delivery across multiple clinical workflows.
