Oracle Health has expanded its Clinical AI Agent with new capabilities for automated professional fee coding, clinician-controlled dictation and AI-assisted chart review. Now available in the U.S., the enhancements extend the platform beyond clinical note generation and order creation, embedding artificial intelligence more deeply into documentation, revenue cycle and patient record workflows while keeping clinicians responsible for final decisions.
The new coding functionality analyzes conversations during ambulatory patient visits and recommends professional fee charge codes directly within the clinical workflow. Clinicians can review and confirm the suggested codes before submission, helping healthcare organizations accelerate charge capture while reducing manual coding work, inconsistencies and rework caused by incomplete information. The capability is designed to improve revenue cycle efficiency without removing qualified professionals from the coding process.
Oracle is also introducing AI-assisted chart review to reduce the time clinicians spend searching through electronic health records. The Clinical AI Agent can analyze information across a patient's record, including medical history, medications, laboratory results and other relevant clinical data, and surface a concise summary of the information most relevant to the current encounter. The company says this can help clinicians prepare for visits more efficiently and access important patient context without manually navigating multiple areas of the EHR.
The expanded platform also adds real-time dictation capabilities, allowing physicians to speak directly into any clinical documentation text field. The AI transcribes the clinician's speech for immediate review and editing, providing another option for capturing information during or between patient encounters. Clinicians remain responsible for reviewing, modifying and signing the resulting documentation.
These capabilities join Oracle Health's existing AI tools for clinical note generation and automated order creation. Oracle says its agents use semantic reasoning and shared clinical context to work together across different workflows rather than functioning as isolated tools. Since launching nearly two years ago, the company's AI-powered note generation technology has reportedly saved physicians more than 400,000 hours across U.S. healthcare organizations.
