SpotitEarly and HITLAB Partner to Advance U.S. Commercialization of Breath-Based Cancer Detection

SpotitEarly has announced a strategic partnership with HITLAB to support the U.S. commercialization of its Bio-AI Hybrid breath-based cancer screening platform and strengthen its capital development activities ahead of a planned market launch in 2027.

The collaboration will provide SpotitEarly with access to HITLAB’s healthcare investor network, strategic advisory services, and speaking opportunities at the organization’s flagship events. The company aims to leverage these resources as it advances ongoing clinical studies with U.S. health systems and prepares to introduce its breast cancer screening test.

SpotitEarly’s LUCID Bio-AI Hybrid platform analyzes the odor signature of cancer in a patient’s breath by combining machine learning with trained canine scent detection. Sensors capture and standardize the dogs’ behavioral and physiological responses, producing data-driven screening results. According to the company, the peer-reviewed, double-blind Rainbow Study, published in Scientific Reports, demonstrated 93.9% sensitivity and 94.3% specificity.

“We’ve built the clinical evidence and the partnerships with world-class institutions,” said Shlomi Madar, PhD, CEO of SpotitEarly. “The next step is making sure the investment and healthcare communities see what our data shows and understand the scale of the opportunity. HITLAB sits at the center of digital health innovation and connects us directly with the investors, health-system leaders, and key opinion leaders who can help bring this technology to the patients who need it.”

Founded in 1998 and affiliated with Columbia University, HITLAB supports the validation and commercialization of healthcare technologies through collaborations with health systems, startups, investors, and industry organizations. The partnership is intended to help SpotitEarly expand awareness among healthcare stakeholders while supporting its commercialization strategy.

“SpotitEarly represents the kind of evidence-backed, patient-centered innovation HITLAB was built to support,” said Stan Kachnowski, PhD, MPA, Chair of HITLAB. “Their published clinical data, combined with a genuinely novel approach to cancer detection, positions them to close one of the most significant gaps in preventive care. We look forward to connecting them with the investor and industry networks that can help take this technology to scale.”

SpotitEarly is currently conducting the 2,000-participant PINK Study in partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health and the University of Pennsylvania and is pursuing a lung cancer research collaboration with Fox Chase Cancer Center, part of Temple Health. The company has also launched a national investment roadshow as it continues fundraising to support development and commercialization. SpotitEarly noted that its tests remain under development and have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
