Vida Health Expands Care Model with New Metabolic Control Framework

Vida Health has launched its Metabolic Control Framework, introducing a unified, population-level approach to managing cardiometabolic disease. Rather than addressing conditions individually, the framework is designed to treat interconnected disorders—such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia—alongside emerging high-cost conditions like MASH (metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis), obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and COPD.

At the core of the framework is the Metabolic Control Index (MCI), a composite scoring system that evaluates clinical data, biometric indicators, and behavioral signals to generate a Metabolic Control Score (MCS) for each patient. This score determines care intensity and guides treatment decisions, enabling a more precise, data-driven approach to managing metabolic health across populations.

Based on their MCS, patients are stratified into two care pathways. Vida Core supports individuals with lower levels of metabolic instability through lifestyle interventions, behavior change programs, and continuous monitoring. Vida Elevate is designed for higher-risk patients, offering physician-led care, closer oversight, and coordinated management of advanced therapies such as GLP-1 medications.

Vida positions the framework as a tool for health plans and employers to better align care with clinical need, ensuring high-cost interventions are targeted toward patients who will benefit most while managing lower-risk populations more efficiently. By integrating clinical, behavioral, and economic considerations, the model aims to improve outcomes while controlling rising costs associated with metabolic disease.
