Withings and Function Integrate Connected Health Data with Comprehensive Lab Testing

Withings and Function have announced a partnership integrating connected health device measurements with comprehensive laboratory testing, enabling users to access daily biometric data and clinical results through both companies’ digital platforms. The integration aims to provide a more continuous view of individual health by combining routine measurements with periodic laboratory assessments.

Under the agreement, Function members can synchronize data from Withings devices directly into the Function app, including body composition, blood pressure, and other physiological measurements. Conversely, results from Function’s portfolio of more than 160 laboratory tests will become accessible within the Withings app, alongside existing activity, sleep, and cardiovascular metrics.

Function’s testing portfolio covers biomarkers associated with cardiovascular health, hormones, thyroid function, nutrient levels, inflammation, and metabolic health. Combining these measurements with longitudinal device data could help individuals identify changes in their health and support more informed discussions with healthcare professionals.

The companies highlighted potential applications for individuals managing weight, metabolic conditions, and cardiovascular risk, including those monitoring physiological changes associated with GLP-1 medications. The integration may also help users interpret changes in sleep patterns or body composition alongside laboratory indicators such as LDL cholesterol, HbA1c, ferritin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone.

"Withings has always believed that health is not a moment; it is a story told over time", Eric Carreel, Chairman and Co-founder, Withings.

Jonathan Swerdlin, Co-Founder and CEO of Function, emphasized the importance of consolidating health information:

"Your health information should live in one place," said Jonathan Swerdlin, Co-Founder and CEO of Function.

The partnership also introduces reciprocal membership incentives. Withings users can receive a $30 credit toward a Function subscription through the Withings app, while Function members can access a 10% discount on Withings products.

The integration is currently available in the United States. Function offers annual membership for $365, including access to more than 160 laboratory tests and biannual testing. Additional imaging services, including MRI and CT scans, are available separately at an additional cost.

The collaboration reflects growing efforts to connect consumer-generated health measurements with clinical testing, potentially supporting longitudinal health monitoring and more informed patient-provider interactions.
