Boston-based virtual reality platform XRHealth has been granted a US patent for a learning system technology that adapts training and treatment protocols based on a patient's biometric and motion data.
The platform allows individuals with autism, stress, anxiety, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and neurological conditions to connect with healthcare providers through telehealth and receive therapies via a virtual reality headset.
The technology collects biometric data, such as blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate, perspiration, and inhalation and exhalation volume, to monitor the patient's physiological and psychological state during therapy.
XRHealth's technology will first be used to combine Apple Watch with Apple's new augmented reality headset, named the Apple Vision Pro, to provide closed-loop AI-enabled treatment.
The company aims to create personalised, closed-loop treatments by tailoring therapies to individual biological responses. XRHealth previously received a patent for biofeedback technology for pain management and has secured funding to expand its VR-focused healthcare treatments.
