Cardinal Health has agreed to acquire AdaptHealth’s Diabetes Health business and home medical supply provider Strive Medical in two transactions valued at approximately $360 million. The acquisitions are part of the company's strategy to expand its at-Home Solutions business and strengthen its presence in home-based healthcare, particularly in diabetes management and urology. Together, the deals are expected to broaden Cardinal Health’s capabilities across several high-demand therapeutic areas while supporting its long-term growth in the home care market.
The Diabetes Health business serves more than 225,000 patients each year through a centralized, direct-to-patient model that delivers diabetes management supplies, including continuous glucose monitors, by mail. Meanwhile, Strive Medical supports more than 20,000 patients annually with home medical supplies focused on urology, wound care, ostomy and incontinence. By bringing both businesses into its portfolio, Cardinal Health aims to expand the range of products and services it can offer to patients receiving care at home.
The acquisitions build on the company's recent purchase of Advanced Diabetes Supply (ADS), which has become a cornerstone of its at-Home Solutions strategy. Since completing that acquisition, Cardinal Health has integrated ADS operations into its distribution network, added nearly 500,000 customers and introduced ContinuCare Pathway, a digital referral program connecting pharmacies with home medical suppliers. The company says these operational improvements have created a scalable platform that supports both organic growth and additional strategic acquisitions.
Cardinal Health believes the latest deals will further strengthen its leadership in the rapidly growing home healthcare sector by expanding access to specialized medical supplies while improving operational efficiency. Subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, the acquisitions are expected to close in the coming months and contribute positively to the company's adjusted earnings within the first year after completion.
