Glooko has launched EndoTool IV Cloud, an FDA 510(k)-cleared, cloud-based insulin dosing solution designed to improve inpatient glycemic management. The software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform combines EndoTool's established clinical decision-support technology with a modern cloud infrastructure, aiming to help hospitals manage blood glucose levels more consistently while reducing technical and administrative complexity.
The platform provides patient-specific intravenous insulin dosing recommendations based on individual clinical characteristics and real-time changes in patient conditions. Its algorithm uses demographic information, laboratory results, glucose trends, kidney function and insulin sensitivity to continuously adjust dosing recommendations. This approach is designed to support clinicians managing patients whose insulin requirements may fluctuate significantly during hospitalization.
EndoTool IV Cloud also introduces a redesigned clinical interface that consolidates important dosing information and reduces the number of screens and clicks required during treatment. By simplifying access to relevant information, Glooko aims to reduce workflow interruptions and support more efficient decision-making at the bedside, particularly in high-acuity hospital environments.
The cloud-based architecture eliminates the need for traditional on-premises infrastructure, allowing hospitals to deploy and manage the technology more efficiently across multiple facilities. The platform includes security safeguards designed to protect patient information and support HIPAA compliance, alongside SOC 2 Type II certification.
Glooko says EndoTool's underlying algorithm has demonstrated improvements in glycemic management, including faster achievement of target glucose levels and reductions in hypoglycemia. According to the company's 2025 customer outcomes data, the average rate of severe hypoglycemia, defined as blood glucose below 40 mg/dL, was 0.006% across EndoTool IV customers. These results relate to the established EndoTool technology rather than a separate clinical evaluation of the newly launched cloud version.
The launch comes as hospitals face increasing pressure to improve glycemic safety and meet quality measures addressing severe hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. EndoTool IV Cloud is now commercially available in the United States, supporting Glooko's broader strategy to expand digital diabetes management across inpatient and outpatient care.
