Oura Unveils Ring 5 with AI-Powered Predictive Health Features and Integrated Care Access

Oura has launched Oura Ring 5, its latest health-tracking wearable, introducing a range of new predictive health monitoring capabilities, AI-enabled services, and clinical care integrations designed to extend the platform beyond traditional wellness tracking.

According to the company, the Ring 5 has been completely reengineered and is 40% smaller than the previous Ring 4 while maintaining a battery life of up to one week. Oura said the device incorporates integrated LEDs that are four times stronger than those used in earlier generations and features 12 enhanced signal pathways intended to improve measurement accuracy across a wider range of finger types and skin tones.

A central addition to the platform is Health Radar, a new monitoring capability that continuously analyzes biometric signals to identify patterns that may require attention, particularly those related to cardiovascular and respiratory health. The company stated that the feature can detect changes in health indicators before symptoms become noticeable, providing guidance on whether lifestyle adjustments, recovery time, or medical evaluation may be appropriate.

Oura noted that Health Radar builds on findings from its peer-reviewed COVID-19 research published in Digital Biomarkers, which demonstrated that changes in temperature, breathing rate, and heart rate variability could be detected up to two-and-a-half days before individuals reported feeling unwell.

Additional cardiovascular features include Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime BP. While the Ring 5 does not directly measure blood pressure, these tools monitor trends and patterns over time that may indicate cardiovascular strain.

The device also introduces expanded respiratory monitoring through a collaboration with ResMed. Users receive a 30-day view of respiratory health, including breathing regularity and sleep-related disturbances. If concerning patterns are detected, individuals can complete a diagnostic assessment through ResMed and review potential treatment options within the Oura app.

Oura has also integrated virtual care services through Counsel Health. The platform enables users to interact with an AI-supported physician experience and, when necessary, connect with a licensed physician. The service will be available in 43 U.S. states.

Additional capabilities include health record imports, laboratory result uploads, GLP-1 medication tracking, and live activity monitoring. The titanium Ring 5 is available for preorder and begins shipping on June 4, with pricing ranging from $399 to $499 depending on finish. A portable charging case, sold separately for $99, provides up to one month of additional charge.
