SoundHealth Secures $12.25 Million Series A to Expand AI-Powered Acoustic Wearables

SoundHealth has closed an oversubscribed $12.25 million Series A financing round led by Shangbay Capital, providing new funding to expand its portfolio of AI-powered, non-invasive medical wearables. The company plans to accelerate commercialization of its FDA-cleared Sonu device while advancing new applications for personalized acoustic technology in sleep health.

Sonu is designed as a drug-free treatment option for patients aged 12 years and older experiencing allergic and non-allergic rhinitis. According to the company, the wearable has delivered more than 500,000 acoustic resonance treatment sessions and is increasingly being used as an alternative to corticosteroid nasal sprays and other long-term pharmaceutical therapies for nasal congestion.

The platform combines artificial intelligence with computer vision to personalize treatment. Using a smartphone camera, SoundHealth’s software generates a three-dimensional digital model of an individual’s facial and sinus anatomy. Proprietary algorithms then calculate acoustic resonant frequencies tailored to that anatomy, enabling the wearable to deliver targeted vibrational waves intended to stimulate autonomic nerve pathways and increase nitric oxide release within the nasal mucosa, helping to reduce swelling and congestion.

Building on the same technology, the company has introduced Spatial Sleep, a personalized acoustic wellness device that applies craniofacial resonance mapping to support improved sleep. The system is designed to help users fall asleep more quickly and maintain sleep for longer durations through individualized acoustic stimulation.

SoundHealth says its technology has been recommended by more than 1,000 medical and dental professionals across the United States as a non-pharmaceutical option for breathing and sleep-related conditions. The company believes its approach addresses ongoing concerns associated with prolonged use of steroid sprays, oral decongestants and sedative sleep aids, including rebound congestion, systemic side effects and long-term medication dependence.

Commenting on the financing, Dr. Paramesh Gopi, CEO of SoundHealth, said, “Shangbay’s deep expertise in scaling medtech companies will benefit our growth trajectory.” Co-Founder Dr. Bryant Lin added, “We are thrilled to have them as our Series A lead investor.”
